Is it permissible to do the Nikah whilst on Haidh?

Question:

On the day of nikah not marraige {widayi} if a girl is in her menstruation, will it affect her nikah…as i have heard that on the day of nikah she should offer prayers and make intense dua at the time of nikah, as the couple is being cleansed of sins when they perform nikah..but if a girl will be in her menstruation then she wont be able to perform salah…

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is not a condition for a woman to be in a clean state (non-menses) for the Nikah to be valid. The Nikah of a woman in her menses will be valid.^[1]
