Ramadhan Islaahi Majlis 14/08/2012

Yesterday after Asr salaah, Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb mentioned this thought provoking incident:

A beggar came to Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anahu). Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anahu) sent his son, Hazrath Hasan (Radhiyallahu Anhu) to Hazrath Fathima (Radhiyallahu Anha) to give one Dirham.

Hazrath Fathima (Radhiyallahu Anha) replied that the six Dirhams in the house are reserved for purchasing flour.

Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) replied “One’s Eemaan is not complete until one has more trust in that which is by Allah than what he has.Upon hearing this, Hadhrat Fathima (Radhiyallahu Anha) offered all the six Dirhams instead of only one Dirham.

The six Dirhams were given to the beggar.Consequently, a person was selling a camel. Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) negotiated to purchase the camel for 140 Dirhams on credit.

Soon thereafter, another person passed by and offered to buy the camel from Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) for 200 Dirhams cash.

Hazrath Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) paid 140 to his creditor and sent the balance of 60 Dirhams home.

Hazrath Fathima (Radhiyallahu Anha) enquired what the 60 Dirhams are for. Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) replied: ” You gave 6 Dirhams to the beggar and Allah gave you sixty (60) according to His promise.”

Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) says: “That person who does one good deed, his reward will be tenfold”

You gave 6, Allah gave you 60.

SubhanAllah!

This is the month of Ramadhaan and a month of generosity.

You give, Allah will give much more.
