My Husband is Cheating on me but I don’t want to tell anyone

Question:

I am married for many years with four kids. Recently I found out that my husband is in a relationship with a non Muslim. I tried speaking to him but he shuts me out. He is hafez. I do not know what to do as I do not want to hurt my kids. They love him alot. He use to come late home but now he returns early. What dua can I read to bring him back to the fold of Islam. I do not wNt to tell anyone coz I read that if I conceal his faults Allah will conceal mines.i am afraid that he must not loose his emaan and come back to Allah. I have started to read my namaaz on time. Before it was not frequent. I am staying in this marriage for my kids. I do not have any family like brothers or parents or sisters. I do not know what to do. Any dua or advice would be helpful. Jazakallah khair

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister, it is a wonderful thing that you have become regular in your prayers. Continue to turn towards Allah and seek His help. Make dua to Allah that your husband realizes the sin he is in and turns back to Allah.

At the same time you need to be proactive in helping your husband see the error of his ways. You definitely need to confront this issue, otherwise, your husband will continue to persist in his wrongful ways.

We advise you to employ wisdom in addressing this issue with him first. However, if he does not stop and repent, then you need to take this issue to senior members of his family or a local scholar or Imam who can counsel your husband.
