There is no reason for you to be demotivated. If you sinned in the past and you repented and have reformed your life, then you are beloved to Allah. Allah ﷻ has stated in the Qur’an:
ان الله يحب التوابين
Translation: “ Indeed Allah loves those who make repentance”[2]
In fact, far from being worried, you are actually pure after sincerely repenting and reforming your life. The Prophet ﷺ said:
التائب من الذنب كمن لاذنب له
(Translation: “The one who has repented from sin is as though there was no sin”)
These are the words of the Prophet ﷺ. You focus so much on the words of others and not on the words of the Prophet ﷺ. The person has acted inappropriately by making such statements. Do not let his words control your emotions and ruin your happiness. You should focus on the glad tidings Rasulullah ﷺ and be happy.
If you are beloved to Allah and sinless, what else do you have to worry about? You are fortunate and have everything to be happy about. Change your mind set and continue your good deeds and get closer to Allah ﷻ. Shaitaan is distracting you by making you focus on the hatred of what people say rather than what Rasulullah ﷺ said. Defy Shaitan and be happy.
What can anyone else do if Allah loves you? Allah will give you respect and peace.
