Can Women Wear Nail Polish?

Question:

Nowadays there are brands of nail polish which do not require nail polish remover to take it off, it simply peels off making it easy for one to take off before doing wudhu. Would it be permissible to use it?

 Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is undesirable for women to adorn themselves with nail polish even if it can be removed for Wudhu. Instead of using nail polish, women may adorn themselves with Mehndi.
