Qaseedah Burdah ‘The poem of the scarf’ is a poem in praise and love for Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam) composed by the famous Imam al – Busairi (Rahimahullah) of Egypt. The poem’s actual title ‘The celestial lights in praise of the best of creation’ is famous throughout the world. It is the most recited poem and the most popular poem in any language. It is recited as a token of love for Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam).
The Qaseeda Burdah is divided into 10 chapters and 160 couplets. There are many virtues of reading the Qaseeda Burdah but the ultimate aim for one who recites it and understands it is to generate the love for Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam) in the heart and mind. Loving Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam) is the pathway to open the heart and a sign towards the divine love of Allah. It is through these poems we learn how to express our love for Rasulullah (Salallahu alayhi wasallam) and how to translate that love in practical life.
The discourses of this powerful poem will be conducted by Hadhrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb during the last ten days of Ramadhaan in which he will simplify the high level of Arabic and eloquence and mine the hidden pearls of spirituality contained in the Qaseeda Burdah.
